Sophie Devonshire appointed to Chief Executive role at The Marketing Society
Hunter-Miller is delighted to have worked with The Marketing Society in their search for a CEO and are pleased to announce Sophie Devonshire's appointment.
Sophie was most recently CEO of the award-winning strategic consultancy The Caffeine Partnership. Her career began at Procter & Gamble and Coca-Cola. She later moved agency-side with Leo Burnett in the Middle East and Interbrand in London. She then set up an award-winning e-commerce business which she sold before becoming Managing Director and Board Director of Quintessentially.
Sophie will take over from Gemma Greaves who announced earlier this year that she was stepping down to focus on new business ventures.
Craig Inglis, Chair of The Marketing Society said “These were big shoes to fill and I’m delighted to announce Sophie’s appointment. She has everything we were looking for – passion and enthusiasm for the Society and our industry, an impressive breadth of leadership experience and an infectious, go-getting nature. I have total confidence that she’ll lead The Marketing Society brilliantly through the next stage of its growth and I’m very much looking forward to working with her.”
“I also want to say a huge thank you to Gemma for her outstanding contribution to the Society over the years. Through her leadership, energy, vision and determination the Society has grown into a thriving global community and she leaves a brave legacy to be proud of. I know she’ll have great success in the next chapter of her career and the Board and I wish her all the very best.”
Sophie said, “The Marketing Society is a great organisation with an amazing history, an important purpose and a wonderful network of members. It's a real honour to have been asked to be its next leader. I'm really looking forward to getting to know all the members and to working together with brave leaders across the globe.”
Gemma Greaves commented, “I couldn’t be more delighted that Sophie has been appointed as my successor. Her energy, personality and vision ensured she stood out. My number one priority now, is to support Sophie as she steps into the role and help her shine brightly, as I know she will.”
Sophie will officially take up the new position at the end of June 2020.
The Marketing Society is a global community of over 3000 professionals. Launched in the UK in 1959, it’s grown into a global network with hubs in London, Scotland, New York, Dubai, Singapore, Hong Kong and India.
